As far as i know, there is no established base price, however you shouldnt normally accept less than around 300g for a decent purple wep in pre.
As pre weps go, prices are low or nothing.
Its generally accepted that any weps that ARENT good enough for high lvlers (i.e. 14-20) are either indentified then sold for not much at merchant, or are given away for free to new players.

As a side note, if you have the Game of the year edition or upgrade, the bonus weapons are the best you will see in pre.
Back on topic; I try to review the prices before I offer any drops in pre for sale. Ascalon American D1 is normally the place to be for pricing information. Most sellers will let you look at what they are offering which should allow you to figure out how much more or less your item is worth. I have found that almost everything in guru's forums is over priced.

I've seen people selling weapons on the pre-searing forums for 50k+ and getting bites. "Perfect" weapons in Pre-Searing are very rare, and low requirement weapons go for a premium.
Definitely go check out the Pre=Searing forums to get some better opinions.

You may have seen people trying to sell weps for 50k+ in pre. But you shouldnt have seen any being sold. i.e. no-one will pay that UNLESS
you are talking about the weapons that got taken back to pre when the bug was introduced into guild wars some while ago.
During that time, several post weapons were able to be taken back to pre due to a bug.
They are mostly 'perfect' or max damage/max spec weps from post, and thus in pre sell for stupid amounts. Only permas will/should buy them.
My point before was, if you wouldnt pay over 300g for the weapon yourself, and you have it, then you should give it away. If you are not a perma, you should give it away. As there is no need to make money of weapon sales in pre, 'Gate Monkeying' and selling dyes and collectables should be your main sources of income.

All weapons which help death levelling are worth a fortune. You forgot about them. Like offhads giving +energy and - armor or with any vampiric mods on them.

I'm not solely talking about Vampiric and other "nerfed" weapons. I have also seen people buying relatively low-req (pre) max damage equipment and offering 50k+. My active friends in Pre tell me that these max weapons are very rare drops, and that few low req ones exist, and are valuable to pre-searing collectors.

rare weapons in pre, 12-16 sowrds 7-19 axes and 12-20+ bows can often hit over 100k
18% charr mods go over 50k on any weapon (exepct staffs)
vamp and zealous mods go for 200-500k
so yo can get a bunch of cash if you get a rare weapons, even decent weapons can get a lot of money in pre.
